Emotional Energy is a strong benefit of group membership (society, a cultural group or structural group) is the emotional energy one receives from taking part in social gatherings. Durkheim called this "collective effervescence". Like the Atmosphere concert, when it gets quiet and then all of a sudden everyone sings the same song, all you hear are hundreds, thousands of people enjoying something without a care in the world. Or even at a Clippers game when Blake Griffin is about to dunk the ball... That feeling when thousands of people get silent and wait, watching to see if he'll make the game point. That feeling of connection with a complete stranger...
